She also likes cuddles, eating food, exploring, watching her humans eat food, begging for food, getting in cupboards, fastidiously arranging her litter until it is just right and sleeping behind the couch.
I’ve been a bit distracted the past few days: we picked up Gertrude on Sunday from the RSPCA. She’s 10 years old: we don’t know much about her past, but apparently her previous owner passed away and she was picked up as a stray. She spent almost 5 weeks at the RSPCA before coming home with us. Pleased to report that she’s settling in well:
It’s wonderful having a cat around the house again. I grew up surrounded by animals, and the place always feels a bit empty without a resident non-human. She is The Lovely Boyfriend’s first cat; his mother is allergic so they never had one. He is completely smitten by the old gal.
It took me twenty minutes to write this post, because she k1]“““`bv \-=====… yep, that’s a message from Gertrude. Don’t ask me what message she is trying to impart!
